I don't know if the game itself, or the fact that you actually gave it a serious review.

Unfortunately, despite this and the other 3 or 4 write ups i've found on the net about this game, I am yet to see what this rape actually looks like, so I will still have to track down and play this wretched excuse for a game.

Did you download, buy, or get this from OT?

Kudos for stomaching it enough to give a serious analysis Neil, although it is interesting to note that you're the first review I've read that actually notes how bad the fighting engine is, and doesn't get right into the obligitory pr0n descriptions.

There are the three CG sequences, which I mentioned being short and with a blurring circle over the genital area, and the three REAL TIME H sections - which are done in polygons at 3/4 close-up viewpoint. I'm not sure if that answers your question ...

EDIT: And could you find the story in this? I mean with most fighting games these days its some big tournament and the pot is a trillion dollars and a cure for some disease. What is this one? Are the girls trapped in this guys lair? Or have they understood that he will rape them in time? I don't see why they are fighting each other either. Are they doing it so the girls don't have to be raped so they kick the shit outta them? Or do the other girls just want to be the first to kick this guy in the balls?

It's the overwhelming urge to tell folks on the internet about punch buttons and life meters and things.

Tweak: I forget where exactly, but I did read a snippet of storyline that mentioned the four girls were looking for Zenon for some reason or other. :B

Oh, and that link I posted has brief mention of the plot.

I'm not Japanese, but I can say that the stories of the various characters are quite entertaining and actually assists in making the game playable. It all revolves around the male character, Zenon. He's meant to be some kind of insane battle machine and some of the girls want to kill him, some just want to find him because the body that Zenon was created in used to know them. I know that it sounds pretty dumb here, but that's all I can make of the story.

There is a section for fighting games, including such titles as "Queen of Hearts" (99, 99SE, 2001) and "Eternal Fighter Zero", amogst others. Actually they're tombraider copy does have minimal gameplay and puzzles... but the train rapist one... oh boy...

that one is disturbing - it's not removed from reality like Battle Raper.... you're just a train rapist... and the gameplay- now THAT IS disturbing. One level requires you to be stealthy. Not like Solid snake stealthy, but 'not move at all' stealthy. Basically it requires you NOT to touch the controls for 2 minutes. If you do...then you lose.

that's what I mean by NO gameplay.

I have that piece of crap. And it's sequel, in fact. The pr0n in them isn't even worth playing it for though. There's hardly any of it really, and it doesn't have anything to do with the game directly. Seems like one of those "oops we made a crappy game, better throw in some porn" kind of deals. They're pretty bad games in terms of gameplay, but probably not nearly as bad as Battle Raper from the sounds of it... :dead

I also have Queen of Heart 98, and it's not a H-Game. From what I've gathered about the series, it's a very weird "dream match" series of games with girls from anime series duking it out. The first one (QOH'98) is the only one I've played myself though. That one features the characters from the To Heart anime, which is about as innocent and non-violent an anime series as you can get. Although ironically, that anime in turn was originally based off an H-Game! Weird...

I'm assuming the other games in the QOH series might use different anime series as their focus, since I can't imagine them making a sequel using this same theme again. It's not a very good game, but it is interesting. I might write a review of it for here if anyone's interested in learning more about it.

I never owned the PSX version - just saw images and movies of it. I do know it had more unlockable costumes, but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

The PS version doesn't have the Virtua Fighter style arenas and goes for a Tekken go-on-forever approach, graphics arn't as high resolution, Ayane is an extra character and backgrounds look flat and far away.

Oh that's right - Ayane and Bass made their debuts in the PSX game, which must count for something.

I still prefer the notion of the Saturn one, though, a port that actually tries to recreate the arcade version accurately rather than just making a new game with the same engine and characters.

Good question. The fact the game is 1.2GB in size means it's just not just a case of getting on AIM or uploading it to herv.net/misc ... the size is extremely prohibitive, at least it is for me. :B

I used Daemon Tools to use the CD images without actually burning. Had I burned them I probably would have wiped the discs clean...... with acid.

Hard to say. It installs, and when I run it, the loading screen (with the heartbeat sound) loads - and then it flashes up "PROJECT" ... and then the sound stops and nothing further happens.

I know technology has advanced considerably since the days of 56k, but I still find it kind of hard to see how I could email what was after all a 1.2GB ISO file.

i played it. the fighting as really bad. but the hot hot action made up for it :spooge:
