(Bloomberg Japan) July 10, Tokyo Japan-- Video game software producer Tecmo will be releasing Dead or Alive 4 in 2003. The news was revealed by Tecmo president Junji Nakamura to Bloomberg News on the 10th.
It is undecided on what home console the title will be released on.
Time to haul out the old "DOA SUX!!1" / "DOA ROOLZ!!1" arguments again.

I'll be looking forward to it. I just hope they add a few more gameplay features, and do something with the COUNTER feature (more for other people's sake than my own, but I feel their pain)
Oh and boobies.

For some reason, the counter system's always been fine for me. My wish list does include a more engaging 1-player experience (mission/training modes or something like that), and for special/combo throws to be weakened in terms of effectiveness.
Oh yeah, and more costumes. Port the costume editor from DoA Volleyball or something. I'd love to put Hayate in some kind of clown suit, or Hitomi in some kind of, um... nothing. :spooge
Online play wwould be sweet too.
'kay, I'm done. NEED GAME NOW. :s2hy:
"Platform Undecided"? Fuck that shit. It *better* be XBox. What'll it look like otherwise?

And I totally see where you're coming from on the costumes thing. The original game gave each character something like 11+ costumes (granted, a few were color swaps, but still), and by DOA3 we're down to 3 or 4 costumes each? What the hell?

And a lot of those extra costumes in DOA3 came from that booster disk packaged in that magazine a few months back.

(shakes head in disappointment) For *shame*, Underkill. You sadden me. Do you really want *Dead or Alive's* graphics to be downgraded? This is one of the few cases where it MATTERS. And you call yourself a hentai. :supergrin
And the reason there were so few costumes in the sequels was because Tecmo was concentrating on turning DoA into an actual fighting game and dispelling its image of just a T&A-fest. I guess they're happy with their partial success. :s2hy:

The idea of a Dead or Alive 4 is almost as stupid as a Dead or Alive version of volleyball...oh wait nevermind.
