Gamespot have revealed 3 more characters for Soul Calibur 2. Yoshimitsu is back (hurrah!) and you'd better get your crackers ready because everybody's favourite pirate, Cervantes, is also returning.
The other character is this thing called Charade, who would appear to be the boss character of the game. Check out the link for concept art of all three new characters.
Also, in older new, the console version of SC2 (on all next-gen consoles) has been pushed back from late 2002 to early 2003.

Older new: is it a clever attempt at a play on words, or did I just forget to proofread my own post?

So has anyone seen this, or played it yet? According to GameFAQs it's currently on test in some US arcades...

I was surprised to hear that there are Beta versions of Rage of the Dragons and (sigh) Guilty Gear XX playable in California. Anyone played em yet?

Actually, didn't Namco officially push it back to the 15th or something?
Also, Ruliweb (which subsequently means MMCafe, GAF and Magicbox) says that "Charade" is Inferno from SC.
Well, it's good to know more of the cast, but I was really hoping they'd've done away with cloning like they did with T4.

Any word on how they plan on linking stories? Like how Maxi and Asteroth are still alive?

If I remember corectly, they said that Asteroth only knocked Maxi out or something, then left him for dead. Then, when Xiang Hua, and Kilik came by, they couldn't find him, only his nunchaku because he had left them behind or fell in the water or something. So they assumed he was dead, when in fact, later on he recovered on his own, with a penchant(sp?) for vengeance.
Too bad they won't tell you the real story, that is they meant to kill that cheap faggot off once and for all, but raving Li Long fans threatened to burn down their building if they killed another chucker, so they folded.
Everyone else didn't realy have a death in SC (exept maybe Inferno, which might explain his new form / name), so they could technically bring eveyrone back on the same generic "Now the swords call them again" plot cop-outhole. Although I STILL don't know how Cervantes still lives.

According to teh storyline, he was apparently revived by some shards of the Soul Edge stuck in his body. :sweat

In Maxi's ending didn't we see Kilik holding his bloodied body in one of the pictures. Dosen't that kinda conflict with the " we found no body, only nunchucks" foolery they are giving us?

They hopefully will make things clearer in SC2.

Yeah, but that's a "what if" scenario. in this case, "what if" Maxi defeated Nightmare and Inferno (well, and Astaroth).
they're probably gonna pull another "these two people beat him" deal with Kilik and Xianghua.
