He said the real Terrence Trent, not the one in the comic. :shy
Surprisingly good episode though. This was one of the funniest ones I've seen in a while. Seeing Star Platinum dressed up in a baseball uniform versus a baseball team of Atums... Jotaro not even knowing how the controls work... and the game being called "Oh! That's a Baseball!" <laugh> All just classic. :supergrin

Veggie, do you know what's currently going on in Part 6? It's up to Volume 15 (I believe) and it should be winding down to a conclusion sometime soon, since the longest Part so far has been 4 with 19 volumes.
Does anyone think there's going to be a Part 7?
Also, Veggie, do you know who the midget on the cover of Part 6's Volume 15 is?
VeggieH8R
17th March 2003, 07:54 PM
That miget is Emporio (sp).
He shows up rather early in series. What he's doing in the prison, I don't know.
His stand is "Burning Down the House":rolleyes. It's a piano if you've seen it around. Annasui was next to it when he was introduced. Apparently it's a type of communication stand, but i'm not sure how it works.
As for finishing Part 6 up it looks like the end is coming up. Weather Report is obviouly too powerful to live (turning the world into snails and all), and it'd be retarded if Pucci managed to resurrect Dio at this point.
If there is a part 7, I hope it's not as convoluted as this part.

A biiiit off. Emporio's Stand is not the piano itself...his Stand doesn't really have a "shape" like most of them do. Burning Down The House lets Emporio see and use the ghosts of objects, basically. Destroyed objects leave behind impressions of themselves on the places they existed--ghosts--and Emporio's Stand gives him power over them. The reason why it's represented with that picture of the piano is that Emporio hangs out in a music room in the prison where part 6 is sent that burned down years ago. (Thus the name of his Stand, as well.)
And the snail thing seems to be some sort of weird effect that happens when Weather Report and Pucci get too close to each other, but I need to read more about that...
I quite like part 6, myself. :shy Pucci is a kickin' rad villain, the Stands are neater and weirder than ever, and the plot is pretty interesting.

Hey.
I'm scraping the barrel's bottom for my addiction to Jojo's Series 3: I've located the Super Famicom "Jojo no kimyouna bouken" ROM and have begun playing it. Unfortunately, the text is entirely in Japanese kanji (with the scant "JOJO" romanji characters), which means that the player RPG commands are -- cutely -- in Japanese. I've been gradually determining which commands relate to which function; thankfully, since RPGs all tend to adhere to a stock set of commands (e.g., use item, take object, attack, defend, etcetera), the actions aren't too hard to discern. As soon as I beat the game, I'll submit a FAQ to GameFAQs for anyone's perusal.
The game's layout is stra-a-a-a-a-a-a-ange and divergent from the manga. I've fought the Tower of Grey stand in the hallways of Jotaro and Kakyoin's high school -- evidently, the old man who was the beetle's Stand User worked as the janitor. You first encounter the beetle in the hallways, and after giving chase twice, finish it off in the school bathroom. (And, yes, if you select the "USE" command and select the urinal, either Jotaro or Kakyoin will do their man-deed, backs tastefully turned away from the player's view. They even give the double shake when they're through.) The premise for the battle with Captain Tenneille is even more absurd. Instead of boarding a ship en route to mainland Asia, the team wanders into a castle, descends to the basement, where a sewage mainline bursts open. The basement floods to Jotaro's chin, and Captain Tenneille shows up. I suppose this was requisite since Tenneille's stand is aquatic, but, really. The open sea was much more appropriate.
To conclude, thank you, VeggieH8R, for posting the manga translations on your site. As a begrudgingly admitted fanboy of the Jojo's series, I've been wanting some translation of the manga for some time.
Yours --

Personally though, I havn't gotten the courage to get a emulator and play that ROM (mostly because I don't know where I can get a emulator that I'm sure won't mess up my system.). But from what I heard so far, it *is* weirder than the manga.

Nah, no shame in it. Myself, I think we should con some avant garde, bohemian theater director into thinking that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is really titanically HUGE among the up and rising aggressive pro-active generation. Further, we should convince him that, while on the surface it appears to be about men (and women) with a terminal case of Sass battling each other with way-awesome powers, it's a subverted commentary on the Reaganomics policies of the 1980's, which have some distant relationship to current world conditions.
The end result of all this deception?
"Jojo no kimyouna bouken: The Musical." I settle for nothing less.
I really really REALLY want Bette Midler to play -- not the obvious role given her surname -- but Dio Brando, in the tradition of Mary Martin playing Peter Pan. Mostly, I think only her mouth and voice projection can do credit to that (literally and figuratively) heart-stopping bellow, "THE WORLD!"

I was thinking about this -- even though the whole car racing segment was somewhat dull, it's interesting to re-read it when understanding that his stand can only discern a person's thoughts in "Yes" or "No" answers. In fact, Darby's relative limitation also helps explain why he chooses an absurd medium (such as video games) to fight in. Video games pose limitations upon a person's decisions -- which is to say that, when Kakyoin was slightly behind when emerging from the speed tunnel, he could only make a decision on his next move within the context of the game. With all the possibilities of actions slimmed down to only those available within a video game, Darby could more quickly ask the right question whose answer would help him win.
Basically, Darby's stand only works well if he knows the right question to ask. This is why he floundered with Jotaro when he could only ask, "Is he cheating?", received, "Yes!" for an answer, and then when he learns that Jotaro didn't do anything to the video game console -- which was evidently the only possible option he considered for Jotaro to cheat by -- he was bewildered. He didn't know the right question to ask, so his stand was essentially useless. One may presume that Darby was familiar with all of the video games in his collection. Kakyoin comments that most of them were fairly old, which gives me the impression that Darby had mastered the games, familiarized himself with the options available for action within all the games so he knew which questions were worth asking Atum, and subsequently relied upon them for the "gambling medium" by which he won people's souls out of them.

I just can't get over the sheer imagination that goes into this series. Especially since it's such a long series too, and from the sounds of it Araki is still coming up with some really ingenious new Stands for characters in the 6th series. Imagination is a strong point that draws me to series like this though. And about the only series that might top JoJo in sheer imagination value is Dragonball. But I think even Dragonball decreased in overall imagination in the later parts of DBZ. The Dragonball series generally had much more imagination put into it than DBZ did, it seemed. Where as JoJo's imagination level just keeps up there. It's no wonder this series has gone on for so long and maintained its popularity throughout, even to this day. :supergrin

I don't know, it's puzzled me that no American distributer has picked it up before. The only thing I can think of is that it's such a long series that it requires a lot of commitment on the part of the distributer, and maybe nobody was willing to put in that kind of commitment on it. But it is going to start to be published in english soon anyway, isn't it? Either way, when the anime OAVs are released, you can be sure it will get much more recognition here. And with the fantastic quality of those OAVs, I'm sure people will sit up and notice it enough to get the ball rolling on some other North American JoJo merchandizing. I think we'll probably see the manga, at least some of it, being officially translated before too long.

Shounen Jump?
Erm, there's a few probs. For one, a few of the series covered by it (Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh) have, although they have been marketed to teens in Japan, are being marketed to kids. Granted, I havn't really looked into a issue of Shounen Jump, so I wouldn't know how much gore they will allow (as we all know, Jojo can get quite messy at times). But I'd hate to see it get targeted by rabid soccer-moms when they see the gore and dog-multilation.
I'd say it's best chance for survival stateside is in the form of translated takoban ala Tokyopop or Viz.

Another possibility is the other stateside Shonen-format publication, Raijin (http://www.raijincomics.com/) comics. They have that Fist of the Northstar sequel or prequel or whatever, and I'm assuming if they print that then JoJo wouldn't have a problem fitting in with its level of violence.

I'm a chronic, habitual, and compulsively negative pessimist. I have full confidence that the soccer mom's would have it blacklisted and publically burnt before any but the keenest Jojo fans had a chance to obtain Jojo's merchandise.
Why, besides a flair for doomscreaming, do I think this?
Because: (1) regardless of what we, of the enlightened animation-viewing audience, know, popular American culture still sees animation as a medium for children. (2) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure departs from the typical Japanese anime art style. The physical features of most Japanese anime characters which are most often exaggerated are the facial features. This is done so frequently, the stylistic distinction has almost become cliche. Jojo's, on the other hand, grounds its exaggeration in posture and posing. In men, the center of gravity is the navel; in other words, in order to stand so that he doesn't fall over, a man needs to stand so that his navel is positioned vertically directly above the center of the base from which he supports his height. Look at most Jojo's poses -- especially, for some reason, at the moments of a character's introduction or triumph in a battle -- and you'll see that the navel is clearly several inches -- or even feet -- away from the vertical center of where the character's feet are positioned. (I'm thinking most specifically of the shot of Dio standing atop the roof of a building in Cairo, just before his final clash with the posse commences.)
The point of that stylistic analysis is to point out that, in terms of physics, the world of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure operates according to rules of gravity unlike the real world's. This would so severely screw with your average consumer's head, he or she would probably pass it up simply for the mere strangeness of it.

But I'm sure JoJo wouldn't be distributed with "popular American culture" as its audience anyway. It'll be a DVD-only release (never shown on TV), and will probably only come out in comic form as either those little manga booklets (of which there's plenty of violent/mature-themed titles here already), or in something like Raijin comics' compilation type-thing (which also has violent comics already). I don't see any reason why JoJo would be seen any differently from a lot of the manga/anime stuff that's already available here.

So what? There's lots of variety of appearance of anime titles. And I don't think the JoJo OAVs really look all that different stylistically from the general appearance of anime in general. And as for the Manga, well there's even more diversity in Manga-style artwork than for anime-style animation. Enough to say that there probably isn't even really a conceivable "norm" of how Manga looks anyway.

Well, it's isn't called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for nothing. I think the title alone will give people a heads up about what kind of uniqueness to expect from it. Hell, I'd argue anyone who's willing to pick up something called "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" off the shelf and look into it further will probably love it for its uniqueness. In other words, I don't think anyone who has an initial interest in it is going to then be turned off by it being "too strange".

It's pretty surprising how true to the original works Shonen Jump has been able to remain without any great amount of outcry from anybody. As for Jojo, though, I don't think they would choose something where nearly all the violence is as graphic as it is, EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's one thing with, say, Naruto, which has pretty non-graphic violence with the odd bit of blood or that one OH SHIT MY BACK scene. Jojo, on the other hand, has people getting torn apart on a pretty regular basis. It would be really hard to put that in the same magazine as Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ and so on.

Yeah, man. That's what I'm talking about. The extreme violence, public ain't ready for it, the wimps.
Another ugly thought popped in my head the other day. If one of the more whackball Christian fanatics finds out about the series and Stands, s/he can misconstruct them as the 'familiar spirits' that fundies harp on about when Ouija or channeling is mentioned. Kinda makes me wanna write a Landover-style article though.:supergrin

The thing about that is, Fist of the Nothstar is easily available here, and has been for a long time. And it's just as violent as JoJo in both degree and frequency, if not more. So I just can't imagine anyone getting too worked up about JoJo if Fist of the Northstar was allowed to slide.

True. My comment was only in reference to a magazine like the American Shonen Jump which is very clearly trying to market itself to a younger crowd while still leaving the manga it uses intact. Do I think it would run there? Hell no. Do I think it could get a series of official TPBs here? Of course. As you said, FotNS is far more violent than Jojo, and we've got three volumes of that out already.

The senior editor of Shonen Jump's favorite manga is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. There's a chance that it could be placed in the magazine in the future, but if a crop of new titles are added and Jojo isn't among them, there is probably a specific reason why and we probably won't see it in Shonen Jump ever.
ShockleyHaynes
23rd March 2003, 02:55 AM
But I'm sure JoJo wouldn't be distributed with "popular American culture" as its audience anyway. It'll be a DVD-only release (never shown on TV), and will probably only come out in comic form as either those little manga booklets (of which there's plenty of violent/mature-themed titles here already), or in something like Raijin comics' compilation type-thing (which also has violent comics already). I don't see any reason why JoJo would be seen any differently from a lot of the manga/anime stuff that's already available here.
My main concern is that Jojo's would suffer the general trend of many stories through many different media of being snubbed on the basis that it presently doesn't have a large American fanbase -- on the assumption that because it doesn't have one already, it doesn't have the potential to.
If I'm remembering correctly, the original OVAs were done by the same animation team that animated Fist of the North Star. I may have just heard this somewhere, but the anime Jotaro certainly has more of a Kenshiro look to him than does the Jotaro of manga fame.
Please remember that I'm from that South and, consequently, am accustomed to the conservative voice having the final say. ;-)

Well, I think maybe this is indeed one of the main reasons why we haven't seen it get any support over here before now. But with the OAV DVDs on their way I think that should open the door for it, since I'm pretty sure that the more JoJo is made available here, the more popular it will become. I mean, I don't think I've ever even heard of anyone reading/watching JoJo and then saying that it's crap.

The only people I've ever heard of disliking the series were video game journalists who loathed the arcade game. To my knowledge, though, their complaints consisted either of, "This is a serious risk to my, and your, collective heterosexuality," or "But . . . but what of Hadouken?! What of DragonPunches?! Abdul is too slow to be an effective, dynamic Shotoclone!"
So free gunshot wounds in the head for them. Really -- it's on the house.

Right, but that's about the game, not the series. I was first introduced to JoJo when I played the arcade game when it was first released. I quite enjoyed it, and still think it was a pretty good game overall. But I really had little idea of what the hell was going on story-wise or anything, even after beating it with everyone. In fact, I started getting interested in finding out more about the series after that specifically because playing the game on its own just left me confused about the characters and story. So the game didn't really do that good a job of reproducing that aspect of the series. But I still think its a good game overall. I really like the look of the game, and and think it captures the visual aspect of JoJo pretty well. And I always found it very fun to play, and loved the innovation involved in its gameplay. But playing the game is really not at all equivalent to knowing much of anything about the JoJo manga series itself.

Oh, certainly. Some of the reviews I had in mind, though, had explicitly mentioned looking at the OVA and manga. Which is why I offer complimentary scars.
I suppose that, being overly familiar with the manga at this point, it's harder to see how incompletely the game communicates the story. I am more and more impressed, though, at how well Capcom wove all the visual elements of the manga into the arcade game -- especially with the characters' supermoves and taunts. I also REALLY dug the quick flash of the Evil Mask when you Stand Crash your opponent/get Stand Crashed.
Did you ever play the Playstation Jojo's? Even though the graphics suffered somewhat due to the weaker console system, I think that the Super Story Mode made up for that. Even though it doesn't thoroughly do justice to the intricacy with which some of the Jojo's episodes are executed, it does offer some more mortar between the fights which grant more coherency to the story.

Yeah, but how many people are gonna pick that up who haven't heard of JoJo before? I think its pathetic sales figures posted in the Egative Nedge forum a while back speak to that. :sweat
As for me, I haven't played the PS version myself, but I probably would've tracked it down if I had a PS. I'm not that interested in playing fighting games at home anyway, and prefer just playing at the arcade. But I probably would've been interested in that one just for the unusually elaborate one-player game it sounds like it has that the arcade version didn't.

Awesome chapter. Ice is another character like Rubber Soul who was tons cooler in the manga than the games.
I feel the need to post this excerpt from a fanfic chapter I wrote about half a year ago, based on a Cartoon Network commercial.
In Dio's mansion, all of his henchmen had gathered to hear of his latest plan to destroy the Joestar bloodline. But his most loyal of assistants raised his hand.
"Uh... I was wondering, Dio, if I could perhaps get a pair of--" Vanilla Ice was cut off.
Enya Geil held a pair of scissors menacingly. "What we need are some new abilities for our Stands."
Dio was surprised at this announcement. "New abilities?! Enya, you control corpses! Chaka, your sword skills are deadly! Oingo, you're... you're made of putty! What more do you want!?"
Devo grunted. "How. About. Fast. Punching. Ability?"
Even with a shadowed face, Dio looked shocked. "What!?"
J. Geil crossed his arms. "Star Platinum has fast punching ability! J. Geil want ability too!"
"With. Fast. Punching. Ability. Ebony. Devil. Will. Crush. Joestars."
"Crush them!" J. Geil growled.
Steely Dan stood up. "I want a purple vine growing out my arm!"
Hol Horse raised his hand. "Hey, can I get a bazooka?"
Terrance D'Arby cried, "I demand a Gamecube!"
Dio smashed his podium. "Oh, enough of this! What do I look like, Calypso? We're wasting valuable time! Right now Captain Tenille and his Stand--"
"Ahem, excuse me." Vanilla Ice stood up.
"VANILLA ICE, WHAT IS IT!?"
"Look, I just want some pants! Just a decent pair of pants!"
The other assassins reacted strongly to this outburst.
"J. Geil want pants too!"

Imagination is the devil's PA system, my friend.
Evidently, so is the international distribution industry, unless monitored.
If the conservative religious right asks about the Stands, just tell them, "Well, y'see . . . um, that there, the 'Star Platinum,' that's in reference, uh, Christ . . . to the STAR OF BETHLEHEM! Yeah, yeah, and that 'Magician's Red' is the tongues of flame descended upon the Apostles! It's . . . like . . . angels fighing demons. Angels, evidently, with loin cloths and codpieces."

Yeah, same thing here. I actually didn't have all that much problem putting down Death 13 and his JoJo gang stand imposters. But afterwards I had no idea what to do. I talked to everyone multiple times, went everywhere I could on the plane, looked at and tried using everything that seemed like it might possibly be something of interest, and got absolutely nowhere as a result. Super Techno Arts finally got their shit together and had a booth in the dealer's room with a nice sharp monitor to show the new OVAs. Unfortunately, they had some dork reading a comic manning it, who didn't know jack about Jojo's(as a friend said, they needed someone to stand up, grab people, and tell them about Jojo).
However, they donated a lot of prizes to the console gaming room, and we did run a DC Jojo's tournament(mostly people that were morbidly curious signed up, so I doubt it displayed HIGH-LEVEL ABILITY).

Whatever you guys do with the scans, just be consistant. If you're going to finish off the rest of series 1, I'd suggest doing it in the same format you started with. If you're starting on series 2, then do whatever, but preferably stick to whatever you choose throughout the whole thing.
And really, Vinny, as long as people can read what's on the page and see everything clearly, it's not a big deal how large the scan is or whatever. I know you can be pretty obsessive-compulsive about this stuff, and usually that's a good thing, but in this case I think you're getting worked up too much over something that doesn't even really matter at all to anyone else.

Well, if the quality can be good, why not do it?
And I'm sure we can pick up the audience that Ignition-One left off, so we might as well try to do a good job. And if we get that audience, hell, we might find some guy who knows enough Japanese to do the rest of Jojo.

Some dude from Li's website pysched me out. He sent me an e-mail asking if he could help with the translations for part 3. I told him I already had all the translations but he can translate any other part that would be great. Apparently he didn't mean "help me translate" he meant "help me edit" cause he had the Akafu's translations too. :sweat Whatever.

However, they donated a lot of prizes to the console gaming room, and we did run a DC Jojo's tournament(mostly people that were morbidly curious signed up, so I doubt it displayed HIGH-LEVEL ABILITY).
I know. It was a dinky affair compared to the other dealers' tables. Wish they sold some more stuff. Wish I knew about the tourney though, even though the Dreamcast controller killed my hand.
Tried the PS2 game too. Real fun when you can't understand a damn thing. :dead Loved the graphics though.
Oh, and did you know that they showed the first two prequel OVA eps in one of the video rooms on Friday? Thanks to it, I'm no longer afraid of the dub :s2hy: . The geek behind the counter said that it will be out this month.

"We already know this old man!"
"Or at least, we know his stare and his scar!"
"The JoJo from New York"
"It's been a long time Mr. Speedwagon"
"Someone told me you left for American and made a fortune in oil"
"Oh people exaggerate..."

As for the other new episode, it's refreshing to see an arc based on actual fighting. Other than Petshop, we haven't seen one of those since Anubis, or if you count it, Alessi. It's too bad Iggi's going to find out the number one rule of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure soon.

OK
HERE'S how it all went down:
1. At the point where Weather Report got his memory back, he only PRETENDED to be evil so Anasui would kill him. He's had a pretty shitty life so Pucci (his brother) removed said memories in cd form.
2. Dio was reborn into Pucci's body(how?) and a new stand was formed, BUT before that happened Pucci's Whitesnake took his dead brother's stand and gave it to Emporio.
3. Emporio is the only person other than Dio/Pucci left alive ON EARTH at this point. Yes, Jolyne and all the other characters are very dead. Apparently even Dio/Pucci didn't fully understand the power of the new stand "Stairway to Heaven".
4. One of Stairway's powers is to move faster than light. However when something moves that fast, things tend to go BACK IN TIME. And that's just what happened. To the point before Jotaro met Jolyne in jail.
5. Now in the past, Emporio tries to beat Dio/Pucci, but then what Vinny said happened. He accidentally killed himself when he tried to speed up again.
6. Jolyne and Annasui (and a wandering and blissfully ignorant Weather Report) live happily ever after. Not knowing about their alternate fate. Only Emporio knows.
Oh and just in case you didn't catch it. Jotaro never lost his stand in this new timeline.

I'll answer them in order.
Emporio is a baseball playing midget... other than that his stand sucks and he died no less than 3 times.
Pucci gave him a stand presumably to beat Dio who was taking over his body.
Emporio went back with him.
Stairway's power is more a time speed up than a physical speed up. It's entirely possible Emporio was close enough to the event that he was effected by it.

That is so weird. Definitely not what one expects from a JoJo's ending. I can't wait to see all this shit for myself.
Part 6 was rather complicated, but I think it's one of my favorite parts of the series overall--for both the characters and the sheer goddamn weirdness of it all.

As good as an excuse as that would be to start a new series minus stands, I just said Emporio changed the timeline so everyone's still alive.

So have you heard anything more about part 7? Like who the main character is? It's been mentioned what the main stand will be called, but I'm frankly more curious about the main stand user myself. :shy

Well, we will hopefully find out in a few days. Unless Araki takes a break between the two series, Part 7 should debut tomorrow in Shonen Jump.
Hell, it might be out already.
Well, I've been told that Araki said Jojo Part 7 won't be out until issue #25 or so, which will be around 5 weeks from now.

Oh, and we might be lucky after all. I talked to the Ignition-One guy, and he said that they might be able to get a volume a week done.

Next hero of JJBA will be Oingo and Boingo! ...oh wait, Araki apparently is already giving them their own book.
Hmm... wonder who it could be. Seems too early to give Jolyne some offspring. Heck, seems too early to give Gio some, even. Bleh, this is the perfect opportunity for Hol Horse Jr. to come in, I say!

Amen! I just don't know how they'd tie Hol Horse's kid into the mandatory "JoJo" line to qualify him as a main character though. That's why I originally said I just want to see Hol Horse's kid as one of the main supporting characters. Even if he can't be the central main character, there's certainly nothing stopping him from being in it as one of the main characters. :wink

While HoHo's Bizarre adventure might not fit quite right for giant epic like series 5 or 6, it would make a great comedy for a few months. We could take a nice break from all the crazy stand stuff that has happened in 5 and have some nice every-day adventures with heavy toilet humor.
I could just picture a young Hoho learning to shoot from his pop and end up nailing some old woman in the ass and getting chased around by angry citizens when the bullet dosen't change directions like it should.

In all honesty, if they can cash the check their mouth is writing, then more power to them. I'd be happy to read part 4 and 5. But considering the fickle nature of the people involved in the project, all it takes is one person to "get a life" then rest will fall out. It seems like wishful thinking. And I still don't get why AK is in on this for free...

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking. I'll believe they're going to put out more JoJo when I see them up on their site. Until then, I don't think it's wise to assume anything. So until they actually get part 2 up on their site (if they even do at all), I think you guys should continue on with it. And heck, even if they do get it up, there's obviously no telling how long they'll keep putting it up, so it might be worth it to keep translating it here anyway.

Well, it's really all dependent on AK, who I also have no idea why he's doing Jojo for free, either. As far as I can tell is that Ignition-One's Part 1 caught his interest, and now he suddenly loves it. I mean, shit, the guy has enough to do already.
If he does do the translations, which from what I heard he will begin working on them Wednesday. Also, Thark might come back as he never actually quit, just vanished. He was slowing down to a translation a day, but exploded or something.
I mean, as long as I have the translations I'll make damn sure it gets done. I'm one of the 6 editors, after all. Two of them are the ones who have been doing this for awhile and could get that shit done in a day, and the other three being new guys.
But yeah, I can see where this could go wrong. I'm betting more on a chapter a day when this gets started, not a volume per week.

I'm kind of confused about the ending of Part 6.
At Li's board, Takahan was talking about how the actual world the GANG is dead, and the PARALLEL world they still live.
So did everyone on Earth die in the actual world? Will Part 7 take place in the parallel world since everyone died?
VoidStar
18th April 2003, 06:35 PM
From the explanation given, it sounds like it was arranged so that the timeline of events in which the gang died ended up not happening. It was all nipped in the bud by Emporio going back in time.
Kinda makes me wonder if Araki was maybe reading some X-Men or something when writing this. :shy

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say they're using ACTUAL world to refer to the timeline before Pucci travelled back, and PARALLEL world to refer to the world as it was after he went back and changed things. Which would of course make it correct that nobody died in the PARALLEL world, only in the ACTUAL one. It would also make sense that these terms refer to things this way, because the actual world that happened originally was the one where everyone died, where as the one in which people didn't was created as a parallel one by changing the course of events due to time travelling.

Takahan has about 4 chapters done.
I think the whole translating thing would be easier if we could get someone who knows Italian and would translate the Italian version.
