Mortal Kombat wouldn't be Mortal Kombat without fatalities. While they weren't in the game yet, Midway did briefly show off a teaser of what's to come. Sub-Zero's fatality has him reaching into the lower back of his opponent. After feeling around a bit, he then yanks out the victim's entire skeleton. Each of the game's 21 characters will have one fatality.

Fucking KEEN. But how does Subby rip your entire skeleton out from your back? I'm reminded of the 21 short story episode of the simpsons, where Dr. Nick is talking about "Bonus Eruptus".

At any rate, it's nice to hear that there's only going to be 1 fatality per person.

AND THIS!

Like Midway's sports games, MK will have a player profile feature. This lets you store your win/loss record, as well as costume configuration. As you play, your profile will earn "kombat kurrency," which is used to unlock backgrounds, special costumes (such as Johnny Cage's tuxedo), secret characters, and more. The game will also have special features-like content, including a making-of video, the music video for the game's theme song, Immortal, and a "History of Mortal Kombat" video.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is scheduled to hit shelves on November 22, or as Midway is calling it, "Fatality Friday."

*cough cough* I SMELL KUMITE MODE RIPOFF! And kombat kurrency olol!

Also, it appears that Cage might be worth playing now! :supergrin

Well the curse of the MK series has always been laziness, and at least that doesn't seem to be on hand here.

Did it say anything about projectiles? Because I swear in one of the video's I saw it had Subby's favorite projectile.

I checked out the videos ... and ... ergh. It looks more developed and interactive, more like a fighting game than previous incarnations, but it just looked so unexciting to play. :\

Isn't there a reversal button? If so :sweat

Does anyone know what each attack button does, or is it still like the E3 build where the buttons were just attack 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and switched drastically between styles?

Man, MKDA might be worth playing for the sole reason that Johnny Cage has fuckin' nunchucks now. :D

It looks pretty cool. The only thing that's painfully missing is characters actually saying stuff (other then HNG! and AH!). Those grunts and screams get old REALLY fast.

Actually, it's a blatant and painful rip-off of Soul Calibur's adventure mode thingy. Actualy, most of this game reeks of Soul Calibur, but considering that's what they said it'd do since day one, it's not a bad thing.

I just wish they hand't got rid of the universal MK uppercut.

If you're going to rip off the home port of a game, there are many worse games to rip off than Soul Calibur.

Uhm, actually, I think the point was to make MK:DA good, so they picked a port that was actuallly better than the Arcade game, and ripped it off.

Although, it wasn't until a few seconds ago that I noticed the costume customization thing. It appears that VF4 wasn't totally free of ripping.

Don't forget recording the win/loss record. I wonder if they'll have ranks in it too. :o
