I'm pretty sure that we're all familiar with Iori's song,
Kaze no Allegory, or whatever it's called. After all, it is
one of the Icons of HerV.
But does anyone know where it came from? Did it
feature in one of the KoF game's credits, did it first
appear on a soundtrack CD released in some special
edition of one of the games, or is it merely some
fan creation?

Does anyone actually know?

Obijay made it up with some help from Vagabond.

I have it on a NeoGeo soundtrack around here somewhere, probably the Guys Sound Collection.

I think it's from a KoF AST, but I'm not sure.

It originated on the KoF '97 AST, but does also appear on the Iori Character Collection CD, IIRC.

If I recall correctly, it was from a KOF Vocal album thta had a TON of vocal songs, including Choi Bounge's classic.

And let it be known, even though Kaze would have made it here eventually, I was the first to hear it 8-) *flexes old skool cock*

That's true. The Neo Geo Guys Collection; it was also on that, though it was a much later album.

I must admit I'm disappointed. I opened this thread expecting to read news of how archeologists had uncovered the lyrics in an Egyptian tomb, hieroglyphics of King Ra shirtless, red leather trousers bound together all over the wall.

Does this song appear on one of the Saturn/NGCD versions of one of the games? I distinctly remember more than one having 'vocal' songs accompanying the credit sequences...

You're likely thinking of "Yuuhi to Tsuki" (Sun & Moon), which is the vocal duo of Kyo & Iori. In the MVS version of '96 it played during the Hero team ending. Though I must admit I haven't actually played the Saturn/NGCD versions, so it might be different in those.

As far as I know, Kaze no Allegory is not actually *in* any of the Saturn/NGCD KoFs. Though I might be wrong, since, again, I haven't played them.

I've always thought of Yuuhi To Tsuki as much, much faggier than Kaze no Allegory, but nothing can really beat Iori's lines in English in Kaze. He really belts that shit out.

There's another song on the NG Guys Collection called "Never Lose My Way", in which he sings (surprisingly), "NEVARR RUESEH MAIH WEEHEEEYYYY". It's not as hilarious as Kaze, but it's still great.

There's also a song by Benimaru (!) and another one with Terry going: uRIEK A SHOOTIN STARRRUE".

I think I still have that Benimaru song somewhere... isn't it called "SHOWTIME"? Squealing electric guitars and the occasional "I raob yuu" is music OF THE GODS.

Yeah, that's right. It's been a long time since I've listened to the album.

I just recalled that Kyo sings a song called "Pieces" on it, which literally starts with him going: "Boyara... pieces up-ah the ass. Alright!?"
